On July 5, 2025, the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) and the Eighth Committee of the Indonesian Parliament jointly held a Halal Product Assurance Norms, Standards, Procedures, and Guidelines (NSPK) seminar on Friday, July 5, 2025 in Cilegon Regency, West Java Province. This event is a platform for promoting and educating small and micro enterprises (UMK), aiming to popularize the halal certification obligation that will be fully implemented on October 18, 2026.
The event was attended by Muhammad Aqil Irham, CEO of BPJPH, and Selly Andriany Gantina, member of the Eighth Committee of the Indonesian National Assembly. Also in attendance were Fertiana Santi, Director of Halal Product Cooperation at BPJPH, Ohan, Director of Islamic Affairs at the Department of Religious Affairs in West Java Province, Acting Director of the Religious Affairs Bureau in Cirebon County, and representatives from the Halal Product Process Supervision (P3H). Hundreds of small and medium-sized business owners and community members participated in this event.
BPJPH General Secretary Muhammad Aqil Irham stated that BPJPH is working with relevant stakeholders to continue strengthening publicity, education, and promoting halal certification knowledge, as well as providing halal certification to business entities throughout Indonesia.
Today, BPJPH and the Eighth Congressional Committee jointly conducted education for small and medium-sized enterprises in Bandung, hoping that all businesses in Bandung can obtain halal certification. ”Mohammad Akil Ihma said in Bandung.
Halal certification, in the future, will not only become a form for enterprises to comply with regulations. Halal certification serves as a means of meeting product standards in order to become more competitive in both domestic and international markets.

At the same time, Seri Andriani Gantina, a member of the Eighth Committee of the Indonesian People's Congress, emphasized the importance of accelerating halal certification, considering that there is only one year left until the deadline of October 18, 2026.
